The L.R. Baggs EAS-VTC-N Element Active System Classical is specifically voiced to articulate the frequency response of nylon string instruments. With the addition of soundhole mounted volume treble tone controls and a special low frequency compression circuit you can effectively shape the sound of your classical guitar to your liking. The typical undersaddle acoustic guitar pickup is dependent on string compression to reproduce sound.

The Element Active System Classical is quite different in that it is engineered to mirror the soundboard’s actual movement as you play. At the heart of the pickup is a flexible film sensor only 2 thousandths of an inch thick that picks up the guitar’s most delicate nuances. Tracking the motion of the top rather than a direct string attack suppresses quack caused by compression and unlocks the Element’s unrivaled dynamic range. The pickup’s minimalist construction lessens any influence on your guitar’s acoustic qualities and creates an intimate coupling between the pickup and guitar for the highest fidelity possible.

L.R. Baggs EAS-VTC-N features include:

  • All-discrete endpin preamp
  • Pre-attached Element pickup
  • Built-in LF compressor
  • Soundhole mounted volume and tone control
  • Battery type: 9V
  • Battery life: 1,000 hours
  • Can be used with both 3/32" (2.4 mm) and 1/8" (3.2 mm) saddle slots
  • Suitable for most guitars with string spacing of up to 2.5" (63.5 mm)

L.R. Baggs EAS-VTC-N Element Active System Classical with Volume and Tone Control Installation

Both the manufacturer’s and our recommendation is to have a qualified guitar tech or luthier perform the installation of the L.R. Baggs EAS-VTC-N. We recognize that lots of players work on their instruments and might want to perform this installation themselves. If you are adept with a hand drill, can follow instructions, and carefully consider the mechanical factors that can affect performance, you can successfully install the Element Active System in your guitar.

L.R. Baggs does not provide technical support for home/hobbyist installs. While Marfione Guitars can provide technical assistance, warranty coverage is only honored for installs performed by authorized L.R. Baggs dealers.
