Unlike typical undersaddle acoustic guitar pickups that are dependent on string compression for their sound, the L.R. Baggs Element Active System Classical was engineered to mirror the soundboard’s actual movement as you play. At the heart of the pickup, a flexible film sensor only 2 thousandths of an inch thick picks up the guitar’s most delicate nuances. Tracking the motion of the top rather than a direct string attack suppresses quack caused by compression and unlocks the Element’s unrivaled dynamic range. The pickup’s minimalist construction lessens any influence on your instrument’s acoustic properties and creates an intimate coupling between the pickup and your classical guitar for the highest fidelity possible.

L.R. Baggs Element Active System Classical Installation
Both the manufacturer’s and our recommendation is to have a qualified guitar tech or luthier perform the installation of the L.R. Baggs EAS-C. We recognize that lots of players work on their instruments and might want to perform this installation themselves. If you are adept with a hand drill, can follow instructions, and carefully consider the mechanical factors that can affect performance, you can successfully install the Element Active System in your guitar.
L.R. Baggs does not provide technical support for home/hobbyist installs. While Marfione Guiatars can provide technical assistance, warranty coverage is only honored for installs performed by authorized L.R. Baggs dealers.
