The D'Addario Planet Waves Two-Way Humidification System PW-HPK-01 uses Boveda's patented technology to bring you a maintenance-free, automatic, two-way humidity control system for your guitar. The PW-HPK-01 automatically maintains the optimal 45%–50% relative humidity (RH) level within your instrument case by either releasing purified water vapor or absorbing excess moisture, as needed. With this system, you can say goodbye to manual humidification adjustments based on seasonal changes, geographic location, temperature, or other factors.
The Planet Waves Two-Way Humidification System comes with two soft mesh pouches and three leak-proof Boveda packets (formerly Humidipaks). While the pouches protect your instrument’s finish against scratches, the Boveda packets protect it against both insufficient and excessive humidity. The Boveda packets last between 2 and 6 months, depending on humidity conditions, and should always be kept in a sealed environment, such as a closed hardshell case. Once the packets become firm, discard and replace using the D'Addario Planet Waves Two-Way Humidification Replacement Packets (PW-HPRP-03 or PW-HPRP-12).
D'Addario Planet Waves Two-Way Humidification System Kit Contents
- 3-pack of Boveda packets (formerly Humidipaks) — each packet contains a leak-proof gel membrane which releases purified water vapor or absorbs excess moisture from the air, as needed; when packets become firm, they need to be replaced (replacement Boveda packets are available separately)
- 1 soft mesh headstock pouch — holds 1 Boveda packet; installs inside the case by the guitar’s head
- 1 soft mesh soundhole pouch — holds 2 Boveda packets; installs in your guitar’s soundhole by hanging it over the two middle strings

Extreme Dryness Or Insufficient Previous Humidification
The D'Addario Planet Waves Two-Way Humidification System is an excellent solution to maintain proper humidification levels inside your instrument’s hardshell case. If your guitar has been exposed to dry conditions without proper humidification, we recommend you “prime” it first with D'Addario Planet Waves Two-Way Humidification System Conditioning Packets PW-HPCP-03.
