My Lacote style guitars are interpretations of Rene Lacote’s traditional paddle-type or figure-8 headstock creations with the fingerboard resting on the top of the instrument as opposed flush with body. Unlike the originals, both the back and sides are lined with top grade sitka spruce as opposed to just the back. I hand select fine Australian curly wlanut veneers for the back and sides. The bookmatched back and matching side sets are striking. I have a limited number of sets of this wood. Other than the Planetary Pegs and neck mounting hardware the guitar is entirely crafted by me using both hand tools and CNC technology in my Morganton, NC shop.

I’m building on a commission basis at the moment You can reach out to me at via phone 828-652-9814 or email if you’re interested in commissioning me to build you and instrument.
