Description
The Rosa Marfione came out of a need I kept running into—nylon string guitars that excelled in isolation, but began to limit the player the moment the music shifted.
Built to my specifications and guided by my design criteria in collaboration with Kremona, it was developed as a true all-around instrument—one that can move fluidly across musical styles without losing clarity, balance, or control.
This is, at its core, a hybrid nylon string guitar. It sits between a traditional classical guitar and what is commonly referred to as a crossover nylon string guitar. Where many crossover instruments rely on a thinner body and a steel-string-inspired neck, the Rosa takes a different approach.
It retains a deeper body for a fuller, more traditional nylon-string tonal palette, while the neck profile is shaped to fall between classical and crossover dimensions—resulting in a feel that is both familiar and more adaptable across playing styles.
As a cutaway classical guitar, it also provides extended access when needed, without compromising the instrument’s overall balance and response.
Whether moving between classical, flamenco, jazz, bossa nova, or more contemporary fingerstyle approaches, the Rosa maintains a centered, flexible response. It can be guided toward warmth or articulation as needed, always remaining cooperative under the hands.
That flexibility is not incidental—it’s built into the instrument. The player is given a traditional tonal palette, enhanced playability through the refined neck profile, and the ability to further shape the sound when needed through the integrated Go Acoustic Audio PreSonic electronics package.
The Rosa is designed to enable. It provides the player with the tools to move freely across genres—while maintaining a consistent and reliable voice.
